2012/01/26 ZF Takes Over Cabin Suspension Business from Thyssen Krupp Automotive Systems
Friedrichshafen/Werdohl. Today, ZF Friedrichshafen AG signed a purchasing contract with ThyssenKrupp Automotive Systems GmbH (TKAS) about its cabin suspension business unit. TKAS generates a sales figure of about EUR 15 million at its Werdohl location in North Rhine-Westphalia with currently 41 permanent employees. Friedrichshafen. ZF stays on the road to success and will presumably achieve a Group sales in 2011 of about EUR 15.5 billion a plus of 20 percent compared to 2010 and more than ever before. Hansen shareholders representing a total of 96.3 percent of the existing issued share capital of Hansen have accepted the offer. ZF has declared the offer wholly unconditional. Gainesville, Georgia/USA. ZF Friedrichshafen AG has opened a plant for the production of wind turbine gearboxes in Gainesville near Atlanta, Georgia. As of 2012, the company supplies gearboxes of the two-megawatt performance class for the world market leader Vestas from the new location. At the moment, people in East Africa face one of the most severe famines of the past decades. About 11 million people in the affected regions of Somalia, Kenya, Djibouti, and Ethiopia depend on humanitarian aid. ZF participates in this aid, as well. 2011/07/08 ZF Acquires Honsel Plant Nuremberg

Friedrichshafen/Nuremberg. ZF Friedrichshafen AG acquires the Nuremberg plant from the insolvent automotive supplier Honsel. The entire company had been taken over recently by the tender consortium Martinrea/Anchorage within the scope of the insolvency proceedings. Subject to approval by the cartel authorities, ZF now takes over the Nuremberg plant with around 750 employees and roughly 150 temporary workers from the two tenderers. ...more

Friedrichshafen. Dr. Stefan Sommer will be the new CEO of ZF Friedrichshafen AG and will succeed Hans-Georg Härter at ZF's top level. Sommer has been part of ZF since 2008 and has been a member of the Board of Management responsible for the Supply Chain Management and Purchasing Domain since October 2010. ZF has begun 2011 with a 31% sales increase in the first quarter. Relative to the first three months of recovery year 2010, Group-wide sales rose considerably. ZF achieved its strongest growth in North America, where sales rose by 69%. Automotive industry supplier ZF is committed to its home city of Friedrichshafen and will be building a new administrative headquarters there. The complex will house an academy, a forum for public exhibitions and events, as well as room for Friedrichshafen’s “Wissenswerkstatt” (Knowledge Workshop).
