Peugeot
The Peugeot name originates from the founding Peugeot family from the former Wuerttemberg county of Montbeliard.
Peugeot 504
Peugeot has had a long working relationship with Pininfarina, one of the leading Italian designers of stylishly streamlined car bodies. This cooperation produced the 504 Coupé and Cabriolet in 1969. Coupé customers could choose from options including beige velour upholstery, black door cladding and sun visors, a black parcel shelf and beige plush carpets. The V6 engine, jointly developed by Peugeot, Renault and Volvo, was installed in the revamped 504 2-door model built after 1974. In the last year of production ending in June 1983, Peugeot supplied the 2-door model with a dashboard with five large instruments – a detail that was borrowed from Pininfarina's planned luxury version of which only three cars were ever made. Even in their heyday, the 504 Coupé and Cabrio models were seldom seen on the road. Today, they are still rare. Many of the cars lost the battle against corrosion. This makes the few examples that survive extremely valuable among collectors.
