Fendt
When the Fendt brothers started to build tractors with their father, Johann Georg, in a forge they were unaware of the immense changes that tractor technology would undergo in the 20th century. Their philosophy was clear from the start: to convince customers with new technical solutions, economy and reliability. The first European small tractor was born in 1930, powered by a small 6 bhp engine.
Fendt F22 VZ
For the first time, even small and medium-sized farms could afford to replace horses. The model name told the story: Fendt-Dieselross (Fendt diesel workhorse). Xaver Fendt & Co. was entered in the Kempten Commercial Register on 31 December 1937. In 1938, Fendt introduced a tractor – the F 22 diesel horse – that already had several features that would subsequently be found on tractors in the fifties: a two-cylinder engine, vertical radiator and 4-speed transmission.
