Historical product archive

The automotive products in the archive include a ZF Soden transmission from 1921, the first fully synchronized car transmission from the thirties, 4 and 5-speed transmissions from the fifties and sixties, race car transmissions and automatic passenger car transmissions, from the 3 HP 12 to the current generations. Steering systems in the archive range from ZF Ross, to ZF Gemmer, ZF hydraulic steering systems and ZF Servotronic. The commercial vehicle segment includes generations of ZF transmissions successful in the twenties, a selection of synchronized and constant-mesh transmissions for trucks and buses, ZF Hydromedia transmission, plus older and modern series-production transmissions from the Ecomid and Ecolite series. The product archive also includes a wide variety of ZF steering systems. The non-automotive area is represented by examples of products made in Passau, the first tractor transmissions and axles, products from ZF Marine, ZF Mechanical Engineering and ZF Rail Drives, a helicopter transmission from an MBB BO 105, and the 4 HP 250 installed in the 1963 Leopard 1 tank. Although the collection is not 100% complete, it offers an impressive overview based on 90 years of ZF technical innovations.

The selection of products in the archive focuses on ZF history. The traditional products of Lemförder or Sachs can be found in the relevant locations.
