ZF engineering activities are structured according to decentralized and centralized functions. ZF Group divisions and business units focus on market and product expertise to ensure customer-oriented and competitive development of technologically advanced products. The ZF corporate research & development center performs basic and theoretical research and supports the operative engineering sectors in the ZF divisions.
International network of ZF locations
The R&D network is closely linked within the ZF Group. Engineers and technicians from all around the world work in ZF research and development. Within the decentralized product development operations, engineering centers for the ZF divisions are located in Saarbrücken, Schweinfurt, Passau and Dielingen as well as at ZF Lenksysteme in Schwäbisch Gmünd and ZF North America Technical Center near Detroit. The corporate research & development center in Freidrichshafen coordinates the activities of ZF Engineering Pilsen and ZF Japan Engineering. The development Engineering Center in Shanghai is also integrated.
