New vehicles with ZF technology
More driving dynamics, comfort and safety
ZF in the BMW ActiveHybrid 7
The new BMW ActiveHybrid 7 is the world’s first hybrid vehicle to boast a lithium-ion battery and the hybrid version of ZF's 8-speed automatic transmission. The integrated electric motor from ZF Sachs supports the combustion engine and turns braking energy into electricity. The variable CDC (Continuous Damping Control) damping system and ARS (Active Roll Stabilization) from ZF Sachs, as well as the speed-dependent Servotronic from ZF Lenksysteme, also provide greater driving safety and comfort
ZF in the BMW X1
The new BMW X1 arrives on cue. It can be fitted either with a ZF 6-speed manual transmission or the efficient second-generation 6-speed automatic transmission. ZF also provides chassis components, dampers and plastic components. ZF Lenksysteme contributes the rack-and-pinion power steering and the steering column.
ZF in the Jaguar XJ
The new Jaguar XJ is proof that comfort and sportiness are not mutually exclusive. This is thanks to ZF driveline and chassis technology as standard, such as the second-generation 6-speed automatic transmission. The speed-dependent Servotronic, the steering pump and the steering column are supplied by ZF Lenksysteme.
ZF in the Bentley Mulsanne
The new Bentley Mulsanne was presented to an exclusive audience at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elégance back in August. The successor to the Arnage celebrated its large-scale public debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. Inside: the new 8-speed automatic transmission, CDC damping system and chassis components from ZF.
ZF in the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo
A further refinement of the Continuous Damping Control (CDC) system is going into serial production in the new BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo. The characteristics for the compression and traction stages are independently controlled. The comfort and driving dynamics are also enhanced by other ZF systems, for example, the new 8-speed automatic transmission, the Active Roll Stabilization (ARS) system and the speed-dependent Servotronic from ZF Lenksysteme.
ZF in the Audi A5 Sportback
Even the Audi A5 Sportback is fitted with various ZF products: axle drives, shift system, chassis components, chassis and switchable engine mounts, CDC dampers, and twin-tube dampers with steel springs. The energy-saving Varioserv steering pump and steering column are supplied by ZF Lenksysteme. The same goes for the rack-and-pinion power steering, the speed-dependent Servotronic and the ZF Active Steering system (dynamic steering at Audi) with superimposed transmission, depending on the model.
ZF in the Opel Astra
Opel has passed on great genes to the new generation of Astra. Thanks to an attractive design and modern chassis engineering, nothing stands in the way of success. The Astra is available with FlexRide adaptive suspension, which made a name for itself in the Opel Insignia. It is based on the CDC damping system from ZF Sachs. Servolectric power steering from ZF Lenksysteme adjusts steering effort to speed and driving style.
ZF in the Audi A4 allroad
The Audi A4 allroad is equipped with numerous ZF products, including axle drive, shift system, chassis components, switchable engine mount system and Continuous Damping Control (CDC). The energy-saving Varioserv adjustable vane pump and steering column, Servotronic rack-and-pinion power steering and Dynamic Steering are provided by ZF Lenksysteme.
ZF in the BMW Alpina B7 Biturbo
The refinement of the CDC variable damping system is going into serial production in the new BMW Alpina B7 Biturbo. This luxury sedan’s comfort and driving dynamics are also supported by many intelligently networked ZF systems, for example, by the second-generation 6-speed automatic transmission, the electronic Active Roll Stabilization (ARS) and the speed-dependent Servotronic from ZF Lenksysteme.
ZF in the Maserati GT S
For the first time, the Maserati GT S, with its more powerful 4.7-liter gasoline engine, is available with the quick, yet comfortable ZF 6-speed automatic transmission. The CDC electronic damping system puts the 440 bhp of the high-performance V-8 engine safely, precisely and comfortably on the road. The steering pump is supplied by ZF Lenksysteme.
ZF in the Volkswagen Polo
The fifth generation of the Volkswagen Polo owes its dynamic qualities to numerous ZF components. Equipped with high-value products, such as clutches, chassis components, switching systems, spring struts and dampers, it’s ready to take on the next curve.
ZF in the Audi A5 Cabriolet
The new Audi A5 Cabriolet makes a great impression through its appearance and its wealth of ZF technology: The gearshift system and chassis components are included as standard, and the all-wheel version also has the rear-axle transmission. There is also an optional secondgeneration 6-speed automatic transmission and CDC electronic damping control system. ZF Lenksysteme provides the rack-and-pinion power steering, optionally including Servotronic 2, steering pump and column, plus an option for dynamic steering.
ZF in the Mercedes-Benz E-Class
After the successful introduction of ZF Sachs’s Sensitive Damping Control in the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, these specialized dampers will now be working to ensure optimal driving comfort in the E-Class. ZF Lenksysteme will be providing the steering pump for this version, and power steering for the all-wheel version.
ZF in the BMW Z4
For the first time, production of the new BMW Z4 will not take place in the United States, but in Germany. ZF will be supplying the precise 6-speed manual transmission and quick-shift 6-speed automatic transmission for the relevant versions of this roadster, as well as chassis components, the gearshift system and axle drive. In addition to the standard twin-tube damper, there is also the option of the CDC electronic damping system from ZF Sachs. The energy-saving Servolectric electric steering system from ZF Lenksysteme will be fitted as standard.
