ZF Sachs Race Engineering GmbH

Since the company´s existence, components, dampers and clutches have been used in series production as well as in motor sports. Both areas were and still are inseperably interconnected. Just like the success.

Starting with the legendary silver arrow, and continuing today with Formula 1, for long distance and circuit racing events or Rally championships, on a national and international level. In the nineteen thirties, the aluminum ribbed dampers helped the silver arrow get one victory after the other. Today, it is space tried materials, such as carbon and titanium, which give that decisive adge.

Flexibility and specialists

New materials, technology and know-how are the one side, commanding them is the other. This is especially important in motor sports when that last possible bit is necessary to reach the top. For this, one needs specialists. Employees, whose experience in series production helps them search, in small teams, for solutions which are often unique and which can be implemented immediately. This in turn requires a flexible organization.

The logical consequence in Schweinfurt: the creation of Sachs Race Engineering GmbH (ZF SRE), in order to also document this commitment externally.

We develop, construct, manufacture, and sell racing clutches and dampers internationally, both for top motorport series as well as national ones; for renowned motor vehicle manufacturers and importers alike and for exclusive tuners and specialty retailers.

One face to the customer

ZF SRE General Manager Olaf Schwaier leads a small powerful team of 85 motivated individuals.

His main goal: individual customer care for an increasing customer base. The customers‘ wishes in the drivetrain and chassis areas are the main focus, regardless of whether their needs lie in Formula 1 or in tuning of series vehicles. One face to the customer – the philosophy is a fixed contact person for the respective customer. An employee manages the whole process, ranging from working on the specs together with the client, to the creation of all procedural steps, and up to delivering the final product on-site.
