"Ideen Expo" in Hanover
Give the steering wheel a turn
Awakening the interest of children and youth in technology - that is a special issue for ZF. That is why the company is also appearing at the "Ideen Expo" in Hanover.
An automatic transmission, adjustable dampers, stabilizer bars, an active steering system and ZF axles - ZF will show visitors to the "Ideen Expo" (August 27 to September 4 at the exhibition center in Hanover) how all of these products work together in an optimal fashion and result in an intelligent system. This meshing of the individual parts that is normally hidden by the vehicle body in a car will be visible for the young people in the system model at the trade-fair stand of ZF (pavilion of ideas, "mobility" area).
The "Ideen Expo" is designed to awake the interest of children and youth in scientific and technical occupations. Participatory exhibitions are the core of the technology event for young persons. "Give the steering wheel a turn" is also the name of the invitation to the visitors with regard to a further ZF model. It will show that fuel can already be saved in the steering process with a ZF-Servolectric steering system. The ZF- Servolectric only requires energy when steering is actually being done. How much - that is directly displayed. Depending on the vehicle type, over 90 percent less energy is used than is the case with a customary hydraulic steering system. Converted into gasoline, that corresponds to around 0.4 liters over 100 km. This steering system is therefore not only comfortable, it also protects the environment and is easy on the wallet.
The training robot "Jacki M." that was developed by the trainees at the ZF location in Lemförde can also be seen at the technology event.
