Formula Student Germany
Ready for Hockenheim?
The German Association of Engineers (VDI) sponsors the annual Formula Student Germany competition. Teams of students design, develop and construct a formula racing car and enter a five-day racing event at Hockenheim, competing against teams from all over the world. ZF has been supporting "Formula Student Germany" teams since 2002.
Swapping the lecture hall for Formula 1 racing atmosphere
For the Formula Student competition, students swap the lecture hall for the paddocks and work in interdisciplinary teams to engineer a racecar. This takes more than more than technical knowledge and design skills. Equally important in real-life racing conditions are organizational talent, a sound understanding of project management and the ability to keep costs under control. To succeed in the international design competition, the total package has to be perfect: design, racing performance, costing and product marketing.
Priceless practical knowledge
More than any other student project, Formula Student promotes the development of young engineers. Students gain fundamental knowledge that goes far beyond standard engineering courses. ZF is a strong supporter of Formula Student. The company is looking for motivated young engineers to work on a project as team players with a spirit of competition and ingenuity, while keeping an eye on cost factors. Formula Student offers learning opportunities you won’t find in the classroom.
