Foundation of the Luftschiffbau Zeppelin GmbH financed through the funds of the Zeppelin Foundation which was established in the very same year. - 1909:
Permission granted for the independent foundation with legal existence. - 1915:
Foundation of the Zahnradfabrik GmbH in Friedrichshafen by the Luftschiffbau Zeppelin GmbH and the Max Maag gearwheel factory based in Zurich. - 1947:
Suspension of the Zeppelin Foundation and transmission of ownership to the city of Friedrichshafen. Ever since, it is administered as a legally dependent, public foundation managed by the city. - 1950:
89.9 percent of the ZF shares relate to the Zeppelin Foundation. According to the foundation?s principles, dividends are exclusively used for "charitable and non-profitable purposes". - 2003:
The Dr.-Jürgen-Ulderup Foundation holds 6.2 percent of the ZF Friedrichshafen AG; the share of the Zeppelin Foundation accounts for 93.8 percent.
