Quality Assurance Directive for Purchased Items: QR 83 - Edition 2006
Quality is self-evident, and only through the highest quality is success achievable! In today's highly competitive business world, quality is no longer a criterion of distinction; it has become a basic requirement. Our customers expect excellence and reliability as basic attributes of our products and services.
Therefore, ZF has proclaimed the year 2006 to be the „Year of Quality“. The objective is to guarantee our competitive role in the marketplace. This is to be done by reinforcing the highest levels of customer satisfaction with the practical application of a zero-defect strategy along the entire value-added chain.
The quality of our products depends entirely on the quality performance of our suppliers. This is why we demand from them not only a quality management system in accordance with ISO/TS 16949: 2002, but also effective measures in their business and manufacturing processes that will support the quality level of our products and processes.
A key element to our successful cooperation is the new ZF Quality Directive QR 83. Since the last edition (2002), it has been fully revised. The main revisions include:
- Adaptation to requirements of ISO / TS 16949:2002
- Definition of detailed planning steps for product and process development
- Retention periods of documents were adapted in order to meet the legal requirements of product liability.
- A periodic product audit (layout inspection and functional testing)
- The ZF specific forms were updated
Should you have any question, please contact your regular contact person in the purchasing or in the quality assurance department.
