Comfort can be defined in many different ways. One significant feature is vibration damping, but energysaving clutch actuation and easy steering are equally important. Here, ZF products can make an important contribution.

The Cabin Air Leveling Module (CALM), for instance, dampens extreme vibrations to a minimum in heavy trucks, construction machinery, and tractors. It also makes use of an integrated leveling system. This optimizes the protection for load, vehicle, and driver.
The electronically controlled ConAct clutch actuation system is also comfortable to use; it helps the driver save energy thanks to its easy operation.
The Servotwin steering system simplifies maneuvering and automatically compensates for side winds. More freedom of movement is provided by the Easy-Entry steering column which has a memory function and pivots up to 50º.

The steering arm switch, which can replace the usual shift lever in automated transmissions, significantly simplifies driving, especially during maneuvering. The transmission operation is so easy that special driver training is no longer needed.

Using the sensor system and the control unit, the necessary steering corrections are calculated and transferred to the steering system via the electric motor. Fuel is saved during highway travel because in this instance the steering system ist operated electrically.

Easy-Entry steering column

The top section of the steering column can be tilted back/forth (in the direction of the windshield) prior to / after getting in/off the vehicle. Prior to departure, the driver tilts back the steering column and it slides into its original position.
