ZF-Rear Axle System for Coaches A 132
The most significant benefit of the A 132 rear axle system is weight reduction. Without compromising on durability the total axle system weight including all suspension elements has been reduced to less than 1,000 kg. The reduction in unsprung mass results in improved ride comfort.
Moreover, due to the reduced pinion standout, longer propshafts can be used, thereby reducing the articulation angels of the U-joints. In turn the noise can be reduced further. New compact bearings in the axle drive and for the wheel bearings lead to a clear reduction in the maintenance costs.
