8-Speed Hybrid Transmission 8P55AH

With the hybrid version of the 8-speed automatic transmission, ZF advances the electrification of the passenger car driveline.

9-Speed Automatic Transmission

The newly developed 9-speed automatic transmission from ZF, for cars with front-transverse motors, planned for volume production in 2013.

Electric Axle Drive

Ready for E-Mobility: ZF presents the concept of a completely electric drive for passenger cars, at the IAA.

Wind Turbine Gear Boxes

Diversification: ZF enters the market for wind turbine gear boxes. In September 2011, the first production plant will open in Gainesville, Georgia, USA.

Wind Turbine Gear Box

ZF has signed its first contract to supply wind turbine gear boxes to Vestas, the global market leader.

Servolectric

The electric power steering Servolectric® by ZF Lenksysteme only needs power when the unit is actually steered, this helps to save 85 percent energy in comparison to hydraulic solutions.

Nivomat Rear

The Nivomat damping system prevents laden vehicles from sinking in at the rear axle. Thus, it ensures that tire wear and fuel consumption are not increasing.

Nivomat

Comfort and safety for any kind of load: Thanks to the Nivomat, full spring travel is always made available.

Passenger car hybrid transmission

ZF has built a passenger car transmission with optimized installation space, thus meeting the requirements for electric motors, clutches, torsional dampers, dual-mass fly wheel, and hydraulics to fit into the transmission’s space in an efficient and space-saving manner.

Hybrid Module for Passenger Cars

The mild hybrid from ZF is an integrated unit of electric engine, vibration start coupling and actuator, also called the “momentum start module.”

DynaStart

The crankshaft starter generator ZF-DynaStart is an E-machine which delivers peak capacities of up to 10 kW and functions with a voltage of 14 to 42 volts.

Varioserv

The adjustable Varioserv vane cell pump displaces the truly required oil volume only and thus makes energy savings of up to 40% possible when compared to traditional pumps.

Automatic 8-speed transmission

The new ZF-automatic transmission generation is based on a completely new transmission concept with four planetary gear sets and five shift elements.

Second generation 6-speed transmission

The new generation of the ZF-automatic 6-speed transmission with revolutionary converter technology.

Turbine torsional damper

The improved turbine torsional damper guarantees improved fuel economy of 3 percent without sacrificing driving comfort.

Networking

Enhanced driving safety and dynamics thanks to networking the drive, steering, and chassis.

Vector Drive rear axle drive and active steering system

Safe driveaway on split, snow, and ice - thanks to networking the ZF Vector Drive rear axle drive and the active steering system.

Vector Drive

More safety and driving dynamics for all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive vehicles with ZF’s “Vector-Drive” rear axle drive.

Torque Vector System

The drive torque distribution between the wheels of the axle generates an additional steering effect. This way, the Vector-Drive rear axle transmission by ZF enforces the steering motion to compensate for untersteering. Or it can also countersteer to prevent a potential breakaway of the vehicle’s rear end.

Vector Drive rear axle drive

The ZF “Vector-Drive” rear axle drive can distribute the drive torque continuously among the rear wheels. When cornering, this considerably increases the agility and tracking stability of the vehicle.

Front and rear axles

A vehicle’s front and rear axles determine its drive behavior, driving comfort, response behavior, and safety potential of a vehicle. Even the individual components such as wheel carriers, sensor systems, wheel suspension and location, cross members, stabilizers, suspension, and damping are equally as important as the connection between wheels and the body.

Sensitive Damping Control

Sensitive Damping Control “feels” the stimulations from the road. Thanks to double valve damper, the SDC provides exactly the right damping force for minor stimulations, such as road bumps, or large stimulations, e.g. long-lasting cornering.

ARS

The active roll stabilization (ARS) minimizes a vehicle’s tendency to tilt when driving in curves and even completely offsets it up to a certain lateral acceleration (about 0.5 g).

AOS

AOS (Adaptive Offroad Stabilizer) is a simple system from ZF that the driver can use to “turn off“ the stabilizer in order to prevent the wheels from losing contact with the road when driving on off-road on bumpy surfaces.

Electromechanical active roll stabilization ERC

The electromechanical active roll stabilization, ERC, provides an energy-efficient alternative to the hydraulic roll stabilization ARS because it works according to the principle of power-on-demand.

Low-floor technology

ZF-low-floor technology: Top view onto the AV 132 rear axle system which - as the drive axle – ensures low floor heights and comfortable operation. Below, the non-driven AVN 132 portal axle.

Automatic 8-speed transmission

Well intermeshed: The newly engineered automatic 8-speed transmission by ZF will lead to fuel savings of six percent.

Intarder

The new Intarder has 25 percent more braking power, weighs less, works more quietly, and is more environmentally friendly than its predecessor.

CDC for commercial vehicles

With ZF-CDC (Continuous Damping Control), commercial vehicles are always properly damped. The picture above shows an evasion maneuver with CDC, the picture below without CDC.

Variable damping system

Variable damping systems lead to more safety in the commercial vehicle as a workplace.

Axle System

In many cases, the complete systems feature ZF components such as control arms, ball joints, steering systems, drive axles, shocks and struts.

8HP and hydraulic impulse oil storage

ZF's hydraulic impulse oil storage is installed behind the transmission hydraulics with neutral installation space requirements. It allows for the start/stop function – and thus further fuel savings of roughly five percent for vehicles featuring an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Ecosplit product family

The manual transmission product family of Ecosplit features freedom from maintenance, durability, and user friendliness.

Ecomid

The manual transmission ZF-Ecomid features freedom from maintenance, durability, and user friendliness.
